The Insights Discovery® Personal Profile sits at the heart of our personal and team effectiveness work. The inspirational Discovery System celebrates the uniqueness of each individual and illustrates the exceptional ways in which recognising and valuing these differences can empower people, teams and entire organisations.
We believe that the Discovery Profile is the most accurate and dynamic personal profile in the world, and the best possible tool for assisting individuals in their search for understanding – both in terms of their personal style and in terms of managing their relationships with others, at work and at home.
Everyone who attends an Insights workshop receives the Insights Discovery® Personal Profile. A powerful 20-page representation of your unique personality, which forms the foundation of all our personal and team effectiveness programs. Featuring sections on Personal Effectiveness, Strengths and Weaknesses, Blind Spots, Management style and Effective Selling. So far, more than 200,000 individuals have been amazed at the detail and accuracy of their Insights Discovery® Profile.

Each Foundation Profile includes:
Overview
The overview provides a broad understanding of the individual's work style, personal style, interacting with others and decision making.
Key Strengths and Weaknesses
This section identifies the key strengths, which the individual brings to the organisation.
Value to the Team
This section lists the unique set of gifts, attributes and expectations the individual brings to the working environment. This section is shared with other members of the team.
Effective Communication
This section identifies some of the key strategies, which will lead to effective communication with the individual.
Barriers to Effective Communication
Certain strategies will be less effective when communicating with the individual. This section lists the things to avoid when communicating with the individual. This information can be used to develop powerful, effective and mutually acceptable communication strategies.
Possible Blind Spots
Our perceptions of self may be different to the perceptions others have of us. We project who we are onto the outside world through our 'persona' and are not always aware of the effect our less conscious behaviours have on others. These less conscious behaviours are termed 'blind spots' and this section highlights these.
Difficult Person
This section gives an overview of the kind of person the individual is likely to have most difficulty understanding and dealing with. Recognising these characteristics can help in developing strategies for personal growth and enhanced interpersonal effectiveness.
Communicating with their Difficult Person
Written specifically for the individual, this section suggests some strategies they could use for effective interaction with their opposite type.
Suggestions for Development
Insights Discovery does not offer direct measures of skill, intelligence, education or training. However, this section lists some suggestions for the individual's development.

Each Profile includes a Foundation Chapter comprising key pages such as: Personal Overview, Strengths and Weaknesses, Value to the Team, Communication, Possible Blind Spots, Opposite Type and Suggestions for Development.
Supporting Chapters
The information contained within the Foundation Chapter can be extended through Discovery’s supplementary chapters. These support ongoing development in specific areas such as leadership and sales.
Management Chapter:
This chapter is valuable inclusion within a leadership or management development programme. The chapter enables managers to consider their own management style as well as the needs of those they manage in terms of motivation, working environment and preferred style of leadership.
Personal Achievement Chapter:
This chapter leads the individual from an initial understanding of self towards an exploration of how they can grow and improve in different areas of personal achievement. The chapter can form an integral part of a personal effectiveness or coaching programme.
Effective Selling/Influencing Chapter:
This chapter explores individual approaches towards each stage of the selling journey from preparation to follow-through. The selling chapter can be customised to reflect and match the specific needs of each company’s sales model.
Interview Chapter:
This chapter is a one-page supplement providing pertinent questions to assist in the selection process. The questions probe and stretch the candidate, raising levels of self-awareness and identifying areas of strength and areas for development
