After lengthy strategic discussions, Synergy agreed a long term partnership with the franchise club chain - Attiva Health Clubs. Attiva are committed to rolling out 15 new clubs in the next 2 years. Synergy are to provide the complete sales and marketing department from sales staff, training, sales management, sales director and even the design, print and marketing through synergy-printing.com. "the partnership with Synergy is perfect to allow us to grow our portfolio of clubs, which being assured the clubs will have the all essential sales support and returns" commented Craig Farman, MD of Attiva Health Clubs ltd.

After nearly 2 years effectively acting as a 'middle man' to purchase design, marketing and print for clients who were utilising one of Synergy's Sales programmes, Synergy Directors agreed it was both in theirs and clients' interests to acquire a print company..... and what better way to have one of the largest in Europe.

Synergy finalise their acquisition of a printing.com franchise. Printing.com has over 180 UK franchises and with Europe's largest print hub based in Manchester it can offer by far the most competitive prices in the UK and highest quality full colour print. Synergy are will be the only franchise working throughout the whole UK dedicated to supporting health, fitness and leisure clubs.

For a third year running Synergy's Director of Sales & Training, Shaun Adams brings home an award. This year the Insights Discovery® Awards held in London, were split into 4 categories with 3 awards being nominated from the 200 strong Discovery Trainer network. Shaun was the only trainer to be nominated for 3 of the 4 awards and was presented the Sunshine Yellow award for the Licensed Practitioner who has done the most to inspire others in their delivery of Discovery® and delivered outstanding training solutions. Shaun was nominated for a further 2 awards for assistance in developing the network, bringing new ideas and concepts and for most outstanding knowledge of the Discovery model.

Synergy launch the 'Sales Boot Camp', a fast track membership sales training programme. Drawing on personal military experience of Training Director, Shaun Adams, this course was developed as a content rich, fast-tracking training module designed to give all the 'tools' and basic sales knowledge to allow membership sales staff to 'get into the trenches' and be effective in their sales role. "The programme while fun and light hearted in it's links to military warfare, is very effective for fast tracking a sales team", says Shaun.

Well for 2007 we have a host of new training programmes being launched and at the request of many of you we are putting on a selection of our favourite training workshops as 'open, walk on' days (diary will be published this month). Excitingly we are moving into new and bigger offices this week (address under contact details), but most importantly, in the first quarter we will be launching a new arm and company (synergy-printing.com) under the Synergy banner with dedicated Directors and team... watch this space!

Synergy Director of Training, Shaun Adams, topped the list of 180 UK trainers for the 2nd year running to receive the ILD 'Blended Learning Trainer of the Year 05/06. The award is given to the trainer who has utilised the widest array of training methods and tools to meet the needs of their clients. Not only did Shaun maximise the training tools available, but created many new tools for the wider training community. In the same award Shaun also came 2nd in the category for 'Top UK Performing Trainer'.

The article focused on the 4 core different types of Instructors, Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow, Earth Green and Cool Blue.

Synergy's Training Director, Shaun Adams and George Flooks, Sales Director of Fitness First, wowed and entertained a 200 strong crowd of membership sales managers and consultants at the Fitness First Momentum 2006 annual conference. The session was opened by a dynamic mix of Eminem's One Shot song and Al Pacino's pre match coach's chat from Any Given Sunday. Shaun delivered 2 sessions focusing on Sales Consultant Personality types and what we can do in our own unique style to truly connect with our prospective members in a style they prefer. The day peaked with a powerful 'excellence awards' ceremony for FF clubs and staff by MD, Peter Body and Comedian, Jack D.

Synergy agrees 1 year licence for Fitness First Health Clubs (153) to use the 'Member Evaluator' tool to profile new members joining their clubs. Nick Smith, Fitness Director agreed to use the tool in all clubs to maximise member retention by placing new members with the 'type' of instructor they are most likely to get on with based on the their preferences of kind of instructor most preferred, instructor type least preferred, how they wish to be motivated and what will keep them interested in 'sticking with it'.

Synergy sponsor the FitPro Business Conference 2005. As a regular speaker at Bodylife and FitPro Shaun Adams was delighted for Synergy to support the FitPro conference. This has to be the UK fitness industry convention of the year to attend (and not just because of the great party afterwards). The conference boasts a host of national and international speakers and this year proved without doubt to be both informative, fun and aimed at the heart of the Industry's issues.

"this is very exciting for Synergy and ultimately our customers who stand to greatly benefit from our partnership with an expert design team, whose clients include whose clients include Daimler Chrysler, Pfizer Animal Health, Timken, The Franchise Doctors & Zodiac International"said Shaun Adams. When asked why this was a good move for Ghost Creations, Managing Director, David Agnew said "Working as an integrated part of the Synergy team has allowed us a good mix of our creativity and the opportunity to work with energetic and enthusiastic new clients, we strive to always create a point of difference and add a little bit of Ghost to all our clients new campaigns - whatever the budget."

Synergy agrees 1 year contract to take over Sales & Marketing function. After successfully helping the Bodyworks health club in Lisburn grow from a 180 member club to now 900 members, James Gordon the club owner gave Synergy the green light to take over the whole sales and marketing function for the foreseeable future.

What James had to say; "I've had more than I ever expected. They've re-branded my whole club from an industrial site gym to a thriving health club. I've been able to update all the training equipment, invest in new staff, increase classes by over 20 per week, incorporate Synergy's 'Guaranteed Results Programme' (which the members love) and buy a 'Apple Health & Fitness Clubs' franchise."

"The long term Sales Partnership strategy marks a significant stage in Synergy's growth and success moving away from short term training and promotions to long term client relationships and club success" said Sales Manager, Dave Anstead.

Rob Hunt brought on board to bring together a Fastnet Yachting team
. Rob said “it's early days in this challenging adventure with the crew having met for the first time and received their Insights Discovery Profiles. The Crew are really encouraged that this colourful tool will make a significant difference to the interaction between team members and potentially affect winning and losing."

The first Training Weekend is about to take place and Rob will be observing behavioural styles and ultimately help the crew fully interpret their profiles and interactions under race conditions. Watch out for a full article!

The award was a reflection of the commitment both Shaun and Synergy have made in using a broad range of training and development resources for developing Sales, Front of House and Fitness teams.

Dave Anstead joins Synergy
as a Sales Manager (south). Dave comes with a wealth of experience in supporting Sales Promotion teams and training telemarketers to drive enquiries to clubs and is a great addition to our rapidly expanding team. "Having Dave on board is great for our customers as we can now offer even more quality teams for impact promotions" says SA.

Synergy's e-Newsletter reaches 4000 subscribers! The free subscriber based e-newsletter, which currently has readers in 19 countries and covers interactive topics on sales, team dynamics, retention and marketing has grown from just under 100 2 years ago to over 4000 to date.

Synergy launches the "Colourful Connections - Professional Sales Training" series of
training modules designed for integration with already existing sales systems and training. Training Director Shaun Adams spent 2 years integrating the modules for the fitness industry to qualify and become accredited as an Advanced Sales Trainer in the programme. The programme was originally devised by Paul Fergus Inc & Strategic Excellence Enterprises and has been successfully applied to the relationship based sales strategies of companies such as British Airways and Virgin.

Shaun proudly states "this is the best thing that could happen to sales training in our industry.
It truly is the missing link in professional relationship based selling. I'm most excited about these modules as they can very easily be integrated into existing sales training programmes and we even now have the expertise to accredit in house trainers and sales coaches."
